Pre & Post Treatment Care

When booking your appointment, remember to factor in that your skin may be slightly red and you should avoid wearing make-up for 24 hours after treatment.

1 Week Before
  • Avoid prolonged UV exposure to reduce the risk of burning. (If you have burnt skin, you will not be able to receive the treatment.)
  • Do not use any products or undergo any treatments to remove hair from your face (e.g. waxing).
On the day:
  • Please attend without make-up on, or arrive early enough to remove it.
  • Ideally arrive at your facial with your skin dry and clean.
  • No sunbeds.
  • No shoes to be worn on our treatment beds; please come prepared.
  • Wear clothing that is comfortable so you can enjoy optimal relaxation during your treatment.
  • Your therapist is likely to ask you about your daily skincare routine; knowing the names of the skincare products you are using at home is helpful. If you’re concerned about your skin, you can always bring your products into us and we can talk to you about how to adapt your routine.
First 24 hours:
  • Avoid touching your skin.
  • Avoid heat e.g. hot baths/showers, saunas.
  • Avoid wearing make-up. (We recommend mineral make-up if needed)
  • No excessive exercise.
  • Do not wash off products that have been applied to your face unless you have been told to do so.
  • Start following an advised skincare routine at home.
  • Avoid electrolysis, waxing or bleaching on the face.
  • Drink plenty of water.
First week:
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure to the face.
  • Do not have any other facial exfoliating treatments.
  • Do not have any chemical peels.
  • Wear SPF on your face every day.
General aftercare:
  • Take directed advice if undergoing laser or IPL treatment – or any other facial – for appropriate timing between treatments.
  • Make sure you are not on any medications that thin your skin or make you hypersensitive.
  • Book your next Dermaplaning Facial for 4-6 weeks’ time to keep your skin glowing.
You are not suitable for a facial if you have:
  • Open wounds, cuts or bruising.
  • A skin infection.
  • Severe eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis.
  • Swelling or bruising.
  • Active severe acne.
  • Chicken pox.
  • Cold sores.
