Pre & Post Treatment Care

By following Heidi Avery’s Eyelash Extension Aftercare Advice, you should retain up to 50% of your eyelash extensions for your infill appointment. The lifespan of an eyelash extension is typically around six weeks if properly maintained and if your natural lashes are on a 12-week cycle.

48 hours before:
  • Before a lash infill, ensure you have at least 50% of your lash extensions remaining from your previous appointment. If you have less, you will need to be booked in for a Full Set. It may be possible to add this to your infill appointment, otherwise you will need to reschedule for another day. Please call as soon as possible in advance to avoid disappointment.
  • No waterproof mascara. This is to ensure that on the day of your appointment, your lashes are free from any product.
On the day:
  • Please attend your lash appointment without any eye make-up on, or arrive early enough to the salon to remove it yourself. This ensures you can have as many lashes as possible applied within your appointment time.
  • Please do not wear contact lenses to your lash appointment.
  • No shoes to be worn on our treatment beds; please come prepared.
First 24 Hours:
  • Keep your eyelash extensions dry.
  • Avoid wearing contact lenses.
  • Avoid steam (e.g. hot showers/baths, spa pools/Jacuzzis, saunas, locations with high humidity levels)
General care:
  • Wash your lashes twice a day. We recommend using our Foam Cleanser and a cleansing cloth or brush. After washing your lashes, dry with a soft tissue, then gently brush through with a lash brush. Do not brush while wet.
  • Use a lash sealant or serum regularly to prolong you lash extensions’ life (Classic lashes only).
  • Do not use any non-recommended mascaras, and only use mascara for extensions (Classic lashes only).
  • Only apply eye creams in the morning.
  • Always wash, dry and brush your lashes after exercising.
  • Avoid excessive touching of the lashes.
  • Do not rub, pick or pull at your lashes – you will also pull out your natural lashes.
  • Have regular infills (2-3 weeks recommended for Classic ‘individuals’; 3-4 recommended for Volumes).
  • For removals, please always book a professional removal at Heidi Avery Salon.
  • Do not use any form of eyelash curler on your lash extensions.
  • No lash perming or tinting over the lash extensions.
  • For long-term lash wear, we recommend using a lash growth serum from time to time.
  • Do not use oily products on or near your eyelash extensions, e.g. eye creams, make-up, make-up removers.
  • Sleep with a silk pillowcase.
You are not suitable for eyelash extensions if you have:
  • A reaction to your patch test.
